INTERIOR DESIGN FOR TYPICAL APARTMENT BUILDINGS
My name is Baiba Tkačenko – I am an interior designer specializing in interior design projects in typical apartment buildings throughout Latvia. I also work with private homes, commercial spaces, and public sector properties, offering functional and aesthetically thoughtful solutions.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Latvian Academy of Culture, 2008) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (RISEBA, 2012). After several years working in the cultural sector and starting a family, I have devoted myself to my true calling – interior design.
To strengthen my knowledge, I have completed several interior design courses in Latvia and continue my studies at the Interior Design Institute in London. I am also gaining hands-on experience by working in an architectural office, where I’m learning about processes related to architecture and construction.
I’m passionate about uncovering the potential of Soviet-era apartments – I see how beautiful, modern, and comfortable environments can be created in these spaces. I believe that a beautiful environment is not a luxury, but a basic human need. That’s why I approach each project with a personal touch and close collaboration with the client – regardless of the budget or complexity of the project.

Design highlights are carefully selected from design goods stores, outlets, or developed in collaboration with local artists and craftsmen.
For larger interior design projects, additional interior designers and technical developers are involved in the implementation process. If needed, with timely agreement and planning, I can also recommend high-quality construction contractors who will bring the project to life according to the original design concept.
